Colorado Backcountry Camp

I'm thinking about packing out my camp for elk season before the season starts and leaving it in the backcountry so I don't have to haul it out each time. I think the backcountry camping rules state the max you can stay is a 2 week timeframe but what if I don't set it up I just pack it out there and set up and take down while I'm there? I'd just be packing out my basics tent, sleeping bag, pad, frame pack maybe some dry foods. I'm not in bear country, it would be public land but I don't see many people where I'd be planning to hike out to but being that I'm more of a weekend warrior because of work it would be nice to not have to haul everything in and out every weekend I plan to hunt. Anyone do this?

Check specific regulations in the Wilderness or Nat. Forest you are hunting, RE caching (storing items in the forest). Buffalo Peaks Wilderness in gmu 49 added rules last month to prohibit caching, for example.

Caching is against the rules on many forest lands, especially wilderness areas. A cache is also considered using a campsite by some officials.
That's why Outfitters have special permits to use areas past the limits, but we have to leave out camps up, we will get ticketed for taking our camp down and caching it.
