Montana 334,321,270

Most of my time will be spent in 334 and the top of 321. I also applied for the 270-45 permits as I will be venturing down near Meadow Creek a few times. Unit 270 seems the most heavily pressured of the 3.

Anyone here have any experience in those districts?

I think the absolute best thing you can do is not post about the units or locations you're going to hunt on a public forum But in all seriousness - if you get a smoker of a bull this fall, people will be able to see your old posts, and may decide to start hunting the locations you asked about, so even basic questions like this could ruin an area for you in the future if you get lucky.

How to research? I have had great luck calling montana biologists and asking them about herd health and patterns, as well as predators or other factors in the units I did hunt. I think at the end of the day - there are a lot of Elk across the state, it's just about finding what drainages and locations they're hanging out in while you're there, and trying to get a sense to how they'll react to pressure.

I was thinking about that very thing Brendan. My main fear was guys who are looking to find a spot to hunt may see the chatter and add pressure to an area.

Here at home I had a ton of extra pressure in a few spots I hunt for deer after posting some trail cam pics online. Since then I only post pics of dead deer.

Hopefully if anyone has any info on those units they will pm it.
