T.A.G. Bag users. What size?

Getting ready to purchase new game bags for the kill kit. What size T.A.G. bags are you using bomb package, medium or large. Also the medium and large are out of stock on BlackOvis. Where's the next best place to order them. Thanks

I like the ones that are about 42" if i recall. I don't like packing meat tight in the bag...as the center stays warm.

Now you have to pack it tight when backpacking otherwise the weight shifts and balls up in the bottom of your pack. My pack....a McHale has an internal load system for handling that....but you can make a silnylon pack bag...or buy one at Kifaru to do that.

I use the BOMB bags - designed specifically for boned out meat, don't think they'd work with quarters. They've been great. I got them as part of the Rokslide Kill Kit sold on the Rokslide store.

I also prefer to stick with TAG / Pristine Ventures as they pretty much designed the concept, were first to market, and then got copied by a whole heck of a lot of other companies who are now selling essentially the same thing. Larry Bartlett opened up about it on a podcast recently...

Large. I bought them for moose and then used them for my bull last year. It sucks trying to squeeze a hind quarter into a bag that's like a glove. TAG Bags are so light that a little extra material isn't a factor.

I have no experience with the medium though so I can't compare. If you want the story straight from the horses mouth call Larry Bartlett in Fairbanks AK who makes them and ask him. He's a cool guy and will be glad to give you the scoop.

Those things are one of the best investments I ever made I swear to you! So functional and so so easy to clean.

Ive never used TAG

I have all sorts of bags the meat cutter gave us, and some and my father in law, then a whole bunch more from yard sales .
I keep a kill kit at camp, a knife plastic bag and a small meat bag in my back pack. We have a couple bags that could double as a bedroll covers they are so big . Somebags are stretchy heavy funky stuff, some thin and lightweight others seem so thick I think they were suppose to be saddle bags
Big is good We bagged a ll my daughters moose, 4 larger 30x 48 bags, loins and tenderloins were in 12 inch diameter tube bagsx 4 foo. Tough grind neck brisket and hock meat in a thin cheap-o bag and good neck, brisket meat in another cheapo bag all placed in a big bag,..Actually was a bit to much meat in one bag
Just so much easier handling the meat in big bags
