WY Elk regulations

Postby Timber » 01 27, 2017 •  [Post 1]

I would like some people to put their input on how they interpret this :"Cow or calf valid off national forest". I am reading it as the tag is valid to take a cow/calf off the national forest, as the tag is good for the national forest. Anyone read this differently?

I read it as not good for national forest. If it was good for the national forest it would read "on". I would double check with a game warden to be safe. It could be interpreted both ways.

Yes I thought I was going crazy Bow82. I can see this being a pretty serious ticket if you do not do your homework on what they actually mean. I agree it can be interpreted both ways. Wish they would start doing these regulations in crayon for me! :D

Yep exactly as it is worded. Valid for hunting on private land, state land, BLM land but not in the big hills which is usually National Forest. That's why they are usually the ones with leftover licenses.
