Does anyone know when the Colorado harvest report comes out? I was hoping to view all them fun stats. I thought it was the end of January.

I thought it was later.They always claimed the draw was later than other states because they had to finalize winter herd counts to set the number of tags allocated.

You are discussing two separate things here.

The Estimated Harvest is (I believe) calculated from the surveys they send out via email, not sure when that usually comes out but I believe it's before the draw.

The Population Estimates are performed around this time of year, not sure of all the methods but I know aerial survey is one of them. The tag allocation is based on this and set in the May commission meeting, after applications are due but (obviously) prior to awarding licenses. This is for Elk, Deer, Pronghorn, Bear and Moose. Sheep and Goat tag quotas have already been set in the January meeting.

When will the big game harvest results be available?

The harvest estimates will be posted on the CPW website (cpw.state.co.us) in mid to late March. Big game harvest estimates can be found under ‘Things To Do, ‘Hunt’, ‘Big Game’ and ‘Hunting Statistics’. Previous big game harvest estimates are also available on the CPW website.
