Welcome to the forum Huntlakewood. I don't know what Rory told you about the renegades at the campfire here, but they are great bunch and we have a lot of fun throughout the year. If we are not actually hunting, we come here to swap stories, ask questions and give pointers on hunting.
We even will poke some fun at the moderators just to see if they are paying attention. Drop an ant in Indian Summer's coffee and watch the expression when he takes his next sip.

Ok a little about my self. I live in wash. I started out riffle hunting with my family ( mom dad grandpa ) my grand father past about 17 years ago and unfortintly my father died of cancer 9 years ago. So well it's up to me to make sure mom gets out to hunt with the family. I have a 23 year old daughter that has been hunting with me since she has been 13 and loves spending the time out in the woods and just being with the family.

I started bow hunting about 5 years ago that was a big change and challenge. I went elk hunting the first year in Nachees had a total blast did not get any but had a big bull walk right past me at 15 yards. Second year went to halfway flats and well that's why they call it hunting. I had to take a 2 year break for most part do to fostering my twin nephews. I got pulled for the all year deer tag this year and finally was able to get a deer with my bow it was my first animal with the bow loved it and now am even more hooked. I am hoping to get my son in law out bow hunting with me and buddies this year.
I still get out with my mom ( which got pulled for doe tag this year and got hers two ) and daughter rifle hunting. I think I have more fun just being with them.

Most of all I am very much a family man and make sure the family comes first even before hunting. I love spending time with them if I can only get my wife to go hunting with me. maybe one day hehehe

Huntlakewood, it is good to read your post and to get to know you a little. I live just across the Columbia on the Oregon side of the river. If your wife is like mine, don't bet on her joining you on any hunts. My spouse is just not into it, but she supports me in many ways.

Swede your right the wife will probably never go but I sure will never quit asking one day she just might say yes and that would be really cool. I keep telling her I would even do all the cooking. Yes she does support me every way she tells me when I start getting stressed to go out and hit the woods

okay, first of all, don't let the crazies on this board talk you into a snipe hunt! The last guy who did that is missing an eyebrow and still sits down when he has to pee! I will let you figure out who that is....!

Welcome aboard! Looking forward to hearing some of your stories and sharing your knowledge!
