Exo pack

Anyone have a k2 5500 exo pack? How does it perform for you? I am looking to purchase one before next archery season!

I dont have the k2.. but have the older 3500 bag... and it is awesome.. and from what I've been told.. the k2's are much much better...you can't go wrong.. the only question is do you need a bag that big.. if so, go for it you won't regret it.

My son & I have the new K2 & the 2015 model. Both are excellent choices. There is little difference in the two frames for all day hunts or packing 100#+ loads. Both are excellent! It's a very tough choice & you cannot go wrong with either pack, both solid choices & the best packs we've ever used! Adjust these packs for the intended load used & there's nothing better! This is an important point!

Yes, I need that big of a pack. I have the eberlestock dragonfly now and I filled it up this year. I hunted out of a base camp 2 miles in so I sleeping bag and tent eat up a lot of room. Don't really care for timing stuff on to the outside of the pack. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks elknut sound like I will be making the purchase soon. I will lose 6 pound with the exo k2 5500! I just wish they were a store around me so I could put my hands on it!

I am curious about the Exo 3500 also - is it adequate as a daypack, or does it feel too big for day trips. Is it adequate for a 1 or 2 night bivy, or would you need more space for camp and cook gear?

If the 3500 is good for day trips, I wonder why the new 2000?. I have a Tenzing 2200 now, and I would not want less than 2200 for all the stuff you have to carry Elk Hunting.

I have a 3500 and it is fine for day trips. With all of the compression straps, it cinches down real well.

I wouldn't mind having a 2000, just can't justify the expenditure right now. If you look at the Exo video, it gives you the actual size, which is a little bigger than 2000.

Guys, the 3500 & K2000 slim down to near nothing! The Packs weigh less than 4# empty. When my 3500 is in daypack mode (most of the time) it weighs in at 13# -- This is with food for all day, 80.oz water, 4 elk bags, gps, compass, maps camera, headlamp, 2 knives, first aid kit & clipshot. Either pack will bivy for 5 days worth of food & gear with lashing sleeping bag, tent & pad to outside. The 3500 is a bigger pack by a little bit. The K2000 is aprox a 2500" pack not including the over 500" lid. This K2000 actually exceeds well over 2000" -- It's just the name of the Pack! It does look a hair trimmer when the two are side by side. You will not find a better pack out there that performs like this pack in daypack mode or well over 100# in it. My son & I have over 140 loads of elk meat each on tons of packs over the years, this Exo Pack design is the best we've used & is ridiculously comfortable with heavy loads. This pack is adjustable if you are in light mode it will slide down your back lower so it doesn't hang up on tree branches & brush that you will be ducking under. With weight you simply slide the main bag up the frame so now you're heavier loads remain high making those loads a piece of cake. It takes 30 seconds to adjust this up & down feature! Pretty darned slick! You can see I'm 100% sold on them & no I do not work for them! (grin)

I absolutely love the pack. Only small thing I would like to see is a bit thicker pads on the belt but that's being picky. Exceptional pack all around!
