TAG bags vs. Alaskan game bags

If money is no object which one would you buy? Money is an object however, but I just want the best bag for my buck/bull. I understand the TAG bags are reusable so that would definitely off set the cost.

Tag bags are the way to go. They will last forever and work great. The Alaskan game bags are usually a single use item and not real durable. Tag bags are very durable and much easier to hang if you need to hang the meat. Flys can also lay eggs through the Alaskan bags. You don't have to worry about that with the Tag bags.

The Alaska game bags are rock solid, inexpensive, but pretty bulky and heavy to carry in a day pack (and like jmez mentions, are really a one time use deal). Haven't used the TAG bags but they look very, very good although pricey. I did however, pick up a set of the VIAM Outdoors game bags (Wapiti Talk sponsor) a few months ago and did a quick VID review (below). I haven't had the opportunity to get the bags loaded up with a boned out big game critter but I'm sure these game bags will do just fine. Just another option for you six as you shop around.

TAG Bags for me. Not only awesome and reusable but really light and compact. An investment not just a purchase.

I would go with the TAG bags. Extremely similar, if not copied, is the Caribou game bags that I have. Used them on 3 elk so far and are holding up great. Wash and re use with a little bit of discoloration to them. I probably didn't wash them correctly to get all the blood out but it wont affect the meat. They are heavy and bulky, but I use a vacuum sealer and it keeps them neat and compact. If you plan to D bone the meat the package that I have is certainly overkill. I can easily fit quarters with the bone in, in its own bag. Using the cord on the opening of the bag to seal it away from any flies and it can also be used to hang the meat. They are expensive but when you can re use them and trust them with the hard earned meat I believe its money well spent.

i like my alaska bags. i've used them three times. i soak them, then launder them in this mesh bag my wife uses for her delicates. (dont tell her!)

they are holding up great. kinda bulky, but i like them. in a pinch they could do first aide duties as a bandage, wrap, sling, etc..i dont know what a TAG bag feels like.
