Dang elk woke me up

Postby RAMMONT » 09 13, 2016 •  [Post 1]

The wife and I were woken up at 3 AM this morning by elk bugling and cows screaming, I guess the rut has started here. In fact I can hear a cow giving a locator call as I type this post. I've been listening to them for an hour and a half no more than 200 yards from my bedroom window. I put my big flashlight on them a couple of times and all that did was quiet them down for a few minutes. I'm a rifle hunter but this is making me think that maybe I should think about bow hunting. It's definitely getting me fired up for my season.

Making me jealous. It must be awesome to live in elk country.

You must not be anywhere near Co. 14. I havent heard a bugle all week. A bull I encountered would even respond to calling. The cows did tho.

Aim small.
