What did you forget,.. in the past?

Last week I wanted to make sure there were not sheep in the two choices we plan to hunt Friday.
I pulled into the place I plan to camp, cleared the dead branched and made a nice place that the cows may ignore.
I forgot a sleeping bag (actually my daughter took it fro the gear pile by the door to southern Utah), I had taken my wife's ultralight 2 man tent and pretended it was a sleeping bag.I didnt get cold but I was up earlier than planned
Last year on a moose hunt in late October The tent was at home,.. I had a tent fly that worked quite well, and kept the rain and snow off of us.
Ive forgotten my shotgun a couple times duck hunting. And likely there are hundreds of geese that lived another day because I had an empty gun

I can admit to this one,from 39 years ago.I always had fishing gear in my truck. while staying at a friends while he was working I put his canoe on my back and had a great day fishing, I brought back a stringer of northern pike some bass and walleyes. A city police man stopped and visited with me admiring the stringer of fish and to make sure I had a life jacket Which I was wearing
After a nice fish dinner my buddy's wife asked about " How much is a non resident fishing license? Evidently the look on my face gave away the fact that I had never considered that I was hundreds of miles from my state of residence.

Sleep ( to excited ) Alarm clock, release, a camo hat, pillow. Lost my money clip right before we were gonna leave spent a 1/2 hour looking for it, (on top of the frig next to the booze cabinet) What question does a person get asked when they loose something??? WHERE DID YOU PUT IT? If I knew that I would not be looking for it!!

AW, you know, TP. A buddy w me got back to his truck from our spike camp w/o his truck keys. It was a bushwhack of 1+ miles, backtracking from truck to campsite. We found the keys back @ the campsite, after looking under every log and weed along the route. I have forgotten knives, had dead lights w no extra batteries, had no pen to sign tag, forgot the one important map while bringing others, forgot bottle opener, water bottle, sleep pills. Probably more things that I can't remember forgetting.

On a pre-season scout trip in WA a few years ago, we biked in with a basic load of back country gear. Because I'm so wise in the ways of back country scouting, I "chose" to not take my sleeping bag for the two night adventure but instead to only take a zip up flannel bag liner to shave weight. I mean really, how cold was it really gonna get in August? Froze my dang acorns off for two nights...I won't forget/not take a sleeping bag again.

Well two weeks ago went up to set camp,.. forgot my sleeping bag,.. well my daughter "moved it" I rolled up inside the tent and used it as a bag. I didnt get cold but did wake earlier than planned.

Unfortunately the list of forgotten things gets fairly long.

This weekend my daughter forgot we were elk hunting,.. she kept chasing deer

Stuff I almost forgot this year (leaving tomorrow): sunscreen, bug spray, bucket for bathing from creek, compass, knife sharpener, orange flagging tape, extra boot laces, gaiters.

And joining a WT bro for elk hunt, instead of solo.

Made it a mile down the road and started thinking about putting money in the fuel kitty. Well reached for my wallet and it was not there. Not on the dash or in the counsel either. Turned around and went home. It was laying on the kitchen table. Not a good way to start the trip.

Oh honey, could you mail my wallet (money, credit cards, hunters safety, license) to Colorado A.S.A.P.

There is a reason I always have had a spare release in my pack for the last few years. I was fortunate to have a spare belt with my practice arrows this year.
