Sharing info on the forum?

So you are here on the forum, exchanging ideas, talking elk with other like minded elk hunters, helping to stem your recent bout with ELKITUS. I'm not asking anyone to give your hunting locations, that is not the question I am going to ask. You have an idea, or a way you have used to hunt elk, you have not seen or read anything that is similar to what you are doing, do you share your "NEW" way of hunting, your "secret way" of hunting elk, or do you keep it to yourself? What are your reasons for sharing, or keeping it to yourself?

I have no secret, and if I did I would share with anyone who asks, I love the exchange of ideas, and the ability that is available to learn from others here on the forum, just curious what others thoughts are.

I have no secrets as well as I am new to rlk hunting. If I did have a secret that worked I would share it to see if it was pure luck or if ithers are using it as well. I feel a team approach will always beat an individual. Again though I'm new and what do I know. I can make a nice smooth whiskey I do know.

The only things I have not talked about on the forum are the locations I hunt or plan to hunt. Tactics and the things I have learned about elk and elk hunting, are available to anyone that reads what has been posted and if that is not enough; then ask.
There is some risk when we say something other than the commonly believed truisms of elk hunting. But we need fresh material and new ideas to be relevant and to expand our hunting prowess. My objective is to challenge people's beliefs and move the ball forward a couple yards (figuratively speaking). Ideally anyone that has spent some time on this forum will have a more rewarding experience and a greater understanding when they go out to chase the beloved wapiti. If you get one, that just adds to the experience, so you have more to share.

I don't share until I confirm what I am sharing is worthy to be shared. Ther are so many anomalies where something works once or twice and never works again...you could quickly loose face by sharing those. Lots of contradictions in hunting too. I don't have enough elk experience to confirm what works but come turkey season I can help. If I keep applying turkey tactics to elk and keep killing then that experience could help.

Im not afraid to tell others how I hunt. When I first started archery elk hunting I sat in a box blind beside water in the desert. The area has changed dramatically,..and my hip is fixed . I now dont hunt there. But when I too old or crippled to hike around I have a place in the desert where Ill sit and read a book and likely kill the biggest bull of my life.
If Im on my death-bed Ill share the location publicly ( and close friends aren't hunting it

( I love this pic) the bulls are 60 yards from the blind location. That location is all about patience 3 or 4 times during season big bulls walk though this strange place mid day

There are a lot of places in this world,.. sometimes sharing can be of the greatest satisfaction. even elk locations

I guess I should never say never . I already share with friends and family. Also if I know there is someone that really needs meat. I will help them too. I guess my never isn't really never . I was thinking more of sharing areas online
