Welcome to the forum lilshootergirl. There may be several people that can help you, but elknut1 lives close to McCall. He should be a great resource. I hope you can at least get a shot at a branched bull. I am getting to like spike quite well when I have to do all of the butchering and packing out.

Welcome to our campfire shootergirl. Please, pull up a log, a beverage of choice, and chime in whenever you wish! I hunt farther N in the tato state so I have nothing for you about McCall area. As Swede mentioned, I'm guessing Elknut may chime in with some thoughts as that is his backyard. Heck with them darn one point elk, go get a bit un this fall! RJ

I'm not familiar with any Outfitters present in the McCall area? I know there was one for a while up near Warren but don't think he's still around. Maybe an Internet search of the area can produce something? If you are already an elk hunter you most likely do not need one, with a little research & homework you can easily find an area, all areas hold elk. As a rifle hunter get off the beaten path a reasonable distance & do lots of glassing where possible & you will turn up something. Are you hunting alone or do you have help or a partner? What's your level of elk hunting experience? Thanks!

Hi, yes there probably is if you have a mule or out fitter to get away from people! I do have many points in many units, I did draw a cow tag 2 years ago that I did fill,it was so much fun, I guess I haven't found a honey place to get something other than a spike. Using a rifle there's lots ppl. Another thing is I'm pretty much on my own with lots of time. Most of my family and friends are either archery or don't hunt. I did recruit my bff to go and help me this year, who is knowledgeable in hunting, processing. Thanks for the thought I'll look at it too
