Post em Up WT Style 2016 - Pants and Locator

Sorry I've been so slow getting another elk sound up; it's been a busy couple of weeks at the Phantom ranch. OK, I ran out to the shop and recorded a clip for us to practice. It's just some voice pants and a locator, a few more pants and a locator. We'll stretch our elk noise legs a bit more as we roll on but I figured this (these) would be some good sounds to practice and post up. I do a lot of panting when I'm talking to elk . Let's hear yours! RJ

I'll try and get mine posted up today, is there anything particular you are trying to focus on while doing the pants? Cadence, tone etc.?

Not really at this point, just making some elk noises bud. Pants are not normally heard/used with a locator bugle, again, just making some sounds to practice by.

Sounds good, RJ. Ill have to dust off my calls and put a few recordings up myself. I see you posted cow and calf as well. This is a great way to get feed back from others to tweak your calling before September. Post em up guys & gals

ROJ , you really hit the high note nicely!

Attached is mine, I thought it was pretty good and then my wife over heard me playing it and said my pants sound like Forest Gump! .. oh well what does she know anyway.

Still working to control my high notes in my bugle, I think Im blowing way to hard at times which makes it tough but I am getting awesome volume!

Very new to calling and definitely have to work on my pants first time ever doing them. Please let me know what you think. And what I should do differently

Mathewsz7-elkridge, your pants are just fine.... don't get too caught up in making them sound this way or that way (I just threw that sound in to get folks thinking about mixing it into their elk tool kit). Your locator needs a bit of work as I don't hear you hitting a very high note. The high note is what carries and is heard by elk deep down in a draw or far, far across a canyon. Just curious, are you working with an older diaphragm? I say this because it may be worn out which could be preventing you from hitting a high note (when the latex stretches after many uses, it's more difficult to get high notes). Hope this makes sense. Thank you RJ. It is a old reed but I notice it was a little loose and I tried spreading it a little but it's still has a little wrinkle in it. Probably about the same at a old reed. I will use a different one and see if it makes the difference.
