Turkey season coming to a close...Time to start dreaming!

Turkey season this year has sucked. That's the only way I can describe it. I have hunted very little and have been skunked. My buddies and brother have all taken multiple birds while I wasted away having to work a mill outage doing 10 straight 12 hour shifts.

So I am back to dreaming of September and the Rockies. It will be here quicker than I know. Things are coming together nicely.

Things to do...
Continue to get in shape.
Practice shooting bow
Get last few pieces of gear purchased
Decide on some backup hunting areas
Get tags/license

I love the planning and prep part of a Western hunt. I've been planning on what I'm going to hunt next season for the past couple months. Our turkey seasons around here are just kicking off, Just hunted Iowa 2nd season and my dad and I tagged out first morning, Indiana opens Wed hoping to kill one this weekend, then the 3rd season of MI opens May 2nd which I will be in a new area so that will be interesting. These public land easterns are TOUGH!!! These are all 1 bird states but reguardless 1 is a feat in itself they see a lot of pressure. I ate Turkey Schnitzel last night for dinner hoping to add another one or two this season.
