Elk Soldier Gear

Thought it'd be interesting to see how folks are equipped when they head into the elk woods to do battle

These are the contents of my EXO Pack:

Kill kit - Knives X 2 (Gerber fixed blade/OE Razor), bone saw - WYO Saw (still looking into a lighter option that is capable of removing skull cap but not as heavy); two pair surgical/rubber gloves; chili powder; license/tags; 100' para cord; plastic sheet; flagging ribbon; peroxide spray bottle.
Game Bags - Just ordered the VIAM Outdoors Ultralight Hunter- 10.05 oz, game bag set. Anxious to try em out this fall.
Survival - First aid items; fire starter items; two chemlights; A.M. SOL EMER Blanket.
Hydration - MSR 2.5 liter.
Headlamps (Xtremebeam primary, Zebralite backup, and xtra batteries).
TP!
Xtra Calls.
Trail Tacks.
Quart zip lock with day's snacks.
GPS in belt pouch w/extra batteries/tethered to pack belt with para cord (Lowrance IFinder Hunt-C/on it's last leg I think).
Rangefinder in opposite belt pouch/tethered to pack belt with para cord (Nikon 550 if I remember right).

Other items carried in hand or on body:

Bow - Alpine F1 Fireball.
Tube - Elknut's new Chuckler.
Calls - Berry Game Call reeds, and, Carlton Bull Hooker to mix up cow calls.
Map - folded/carried in zip lock in cargo pocket.
Compass - Brunton, carried in pants pocket/tethered to pants belt with para cord.
Pistola - Taurus .44 MAG Ultralite/chest holster set up; only carried in brown bear country.
Camera - Canon Elph (gotta figure out if I can fit it in one of the EXO's pouches with the RF or GPS?), and, Clipshot
Binos - Vortex in S4 Harness.
Facemask in cargo pocket.
Multi tool on pants belt.

That's from memory but I think that's it. Whaddya you cats carry into the elk woods when you head up the trail to do battle with the Wiley Wapiti?

If memory serves me right, this is what I carry for when I'm leaving camp and heading out for the day.

Kill kit - Raptor Razor and a Morakniv Knife, bone saw - WYO Saw (I'm buying one this year); Four pair surgical/rubber gloves; license/tags; 50' para cord; plastic pancho; flagging ribbon.
Game Bags - Tag Bomb Bags.
Survival - First aid items including sunscreen
Hydration - MSR Dromedary 4 liter.
Headlamps Zebralight as primary, cheap Energizer for dinking around camp.

Quart zip lock with day's snacks.
Montana Decoy
Rain jacket
Puffy vest
Kifaru Paratarp
Beenie and boonie hat
Light insulated gloves
Spare AA Lithium batteries

Binos - Leupold 8x Yosemites around my neck. If I know I'm going to sit and glass a lot, then I'll bring my Swaro EL 10x42's w/ tripod

Kill Kit: TAG Bomb bags, qt ziplock bag, zip ties, elk tag. Container of camp soap leaves. 25 ft paracord. DH Russell canadian belt knife.

First aid/survival kit: 2 bic lighters with gorilla tape wrapped around them. Stormproof matches. Flint and steel. Ziplock bag with homemade fire starters ( dryer lint and vaseline coated cotton balls) SOL reflective blanket. Water purification tablets. 2 telfa pads, small stack of gauze pads. extra tube chapstick.

Hunting kit: 25ft paracord. compass. extra windchecker bottle. Quickshot camera mount, and a camera. Black Diamond and Cabelas Alaskan series headlamps. Extra calls glacier country.

In the pack. Gallon ziplock with lunch and snacks. Camelback 3l with sawyer mini inline. Rain pants and jacket, vest, light gloves, beanie. Toilet paper. Map of my area. Stone Glacier meat bag. Bugle tube tied to ouside. Heads up decoy. GPS clipped on shoulder strap.

In hip belt pouch. Personal locator beacon, calls.

Pants pockets, chapstick and wind puffer.

Binos in a FHF harness range finder in a FHF pouch on the harnees strap, they ride side by side and range finder is on a tether so I can just drop it if needed.

I don't carry any extra batteries with me. Between the 2 headlamps and GPS I have 10AA lithium batteries. I put new ones in each device at the start of the trip. I can switch them around if needed.
