New Elk Hunting Pack Arrived

Couldn't hardly finish the work day after Mrs. Phantom texted me this morning and said "it" was in! After much research, pouring through reviews, and seeing some pretty top notch packs in action in the elk woods, I decided to pull the trigger on what I truly believe will be a home run for many years to come. In the brown box was the EXO Mountain Gear 3500 and a handful of accessories. Will load her up with some weight over the next few days, adjust the pack, and get the new item in my elk tool kit ready for duty!

Great packs! I bought the 3500 exo a couple years ago, then got the 5500 last year. AND the wife is happy cuz she gets my 3500. WIN. WIN.

Is that pack capable of packing a quarter?

If those are your intentions give it the misses test. Sit on the couch and have Mrs Phantom climb in and then stand up and walk around the living room a bit. I've done that with all of my big freighter packs. NOT the Badlands 2200 though. Then with some "dead weight" (she hates when I call her that) in it.... adjust everything to fit. Fitting an empty pack is useless.

Realized I didn't get a decal from EXO so ordered one and it came today. Pretty dang nice decal! Now I just need to work the pack out

Yep, the 3500. I've played around with it a bit and loaded it with my hunting gear (kill kit, etc.) and it compresses down very well for day pack mode. I really like how high the EXO pack rides.

Oh ya, sorry. They are bought separate from the pack. 19.99 for most colors (ASAT, Coyote, Foliage) but 24.99 for multi-cam. Really nice little pouches!

I got a chance to check out that pack yesterday VERY nice!!
Had some dead weight on it and though not fully adjusted to me the pack took the weight and loaded it around hip level without trying to pull me over backwards, very impressive! While big for a day pack, it did not seem heavy at all, no more than my day pack and much more flexibility for packing out! Win Win from what I saw.

Be interesting to see how Phantom's hunt goes and hear back the results in October!

I got a chance to check out that pack yesterday VERY nice!!
Had some dead weight on it and though not fully adjusted to me the pack took the weight and loaded it around hip level without trying to pull me over backwards, very impressive! While big for a day pack, it did not seem heavy at all, no more than my day pack and much more flexibility for packing out! Win Win from what I saw.

Dead weight? Dead weight? I had Lamrith try my EXO 3500 on, had him cinch it down good and pull a bit on the load lifters, then, I grabbed the top of the pack from behind and "hung off it"... I'm a 160 lbs soaking wet and the pack seemed to handle my weight pretty dang well. And ya, Lamrith (Larry) will hear how my hunt goes cuz he'll be with me in Idaho this year. Gonna use him as a pack mule at a minimum for calling me dead weight

Nope, they are only a two year old company and have had a hard time keeping them instock. Buy used for a deal.

I figured that would get a response.
What he didn't say was that he gave me no warning and started hanging off the pack like a spider Monkey..
True testimate to the pack and how it takes the weight and distributes it as I was standing straight up not leaning forward and had that 160# of DEAD WEIGHT suddenly loaded up. Never felt like I was going to get pulled over backwards as the load was all going thru hip belt and lower pack pad pressing right into lower back putting the weight on hips.
