Well I finally go the chance to take my wife out for her Christmas gift. A trip to Jackson and the Sleigh ride on the refuge
Just out of Rire Idaho

We have a sign like that just outside of Pocatello too . Evidently some drivers don't heed the warning. The highway dept was picking up killed elk Sunday and we saw two more today

these guys were just 350 yards off the highway Sunday and Monday afternoon

Boston, Connecticut, Florida, Houston, Green River, Wyoming and us from Pocatello
Jackson Hole Elk Refuge, 25,000 acres, 7200 elk on last count

Most of the really big bulls were a couple miles away,. we glassed those the previous evening.
We did see elk at the other two state feeding sites,. 1500 elk south wast of Jackson and 700 that we could see from the road west of Hoback

2000 head were on the south end just a mile out of town.
maybe 1700 head in the group that the sleigh rode around

This coyote let us pass with in 125 yards , some immature bald eagles were waiting their turn! Yes the close one is a raven
