Montana Hunting Opportunities

Postby Indian Summer » 01 14, 2016 •  [Post 1]

So for some time now we have been working on selling my old Montana outfit Indian Summer Outfitters to a very good friend of mine named Paul Converse. He guided for me the entire time I owned the outfit there. He is hands down the best elk hunter I know. Kills his 6 point bull every year and sometimes another over in Idaho. Yesterday things moved forward and so I am able to book outfitted hunts up there now.

License draw odds are 100% so now worries there. The hunting has been very good there and getting better lately. There were plenty of 6 point bulls and even a couple 7 points spotted last season.

Drop camps are $1950 per hunter and include everything other than your food. A full camp and elk packing.

Semi guided hunts are $2950 and include a full camp and all of your meals. There will be a guide in camp to help you with a game plan every day as well. Again your packing is included.

Fully guided hunts are $3500 per hunter for 2 on 1 hunts and $4500 for a 1 on one.

If anyone is looking for a good hunt in a good area and would like some support instead of a complete DIY, or even a guided hunt hunt let me know.

Montana has some opportunities for hunters with limited mobility. Paul is an accomplished long range shooter like the guys on Best of the West. I've seen him put a couple women on to trophy billy goats with 1000 yard shots. He spots them and sets the gun up. Even if you don't have limitations but would like to try some long range hunting Paul is the guy to do it with.

Also available are a limited number of top quality mountain lion hunts. Back in the day Paul was my houndsman when I ran cats. He has guided quite a bit over in Idaho as well and last year every client filled their tag. When it comes to finding tracks and running hounds Paul is an animal. He is out working his dogs year round. Like any serious lion hunter he takes great pride in his dogs. On top of that he knows more area than you can Google Earth in a couple hours. So if anyone is looking for an exciting lion hunt let me know and I'll put you in touch with him.

I can't say enough about Paul as a friend and a hunter and wish him the best of luck with the business. Anyone interested in a Montana hunt shoot me a PM. His website is in the works.

Paul with a nice bull from the area he guides.

PM answered Kris. Since we literally just started booking hunts the schedule is wide open. Right now you can pretty much pick your dates. Hunts like prime time archery weeks (only really 2 of them) or the rifle opener which are normally booked by now are there for the taking.
