What did everyone get for X-mas? I would love to hear some first impressions of your new gear

I got some early season high tech clothing from Sitka - Ascent Pants, long-sleeved hooded shirt, Beanie

My first impression is very positive. Obviously not a good value, but comfortable , breathable, and look like they will be fairly durable. Need field testing to know for sure however since I do just fine in low tech clothing also.

I told my wife and daughters absolutely no cotton hunting clothing. I told my wife I was getting some pants,.. I didnt tell her they were Sitka. Ive been wearing clearance pants from Walmart ($5.00). No longer hunting the desert, cotton would not work and I did have a pair of ultra light tech fabric pants for hot days.
One daughter works at Sportsman's warehouse and bought 3 dozen Ted Nugent Gold tip arrows in hot pink,. so I can find them
Ended up with two pair of Kings cargo pants. My wife was surprised, but commented I need more than one pair of pants. Merino wool top.
Two daughters work at Home Depot They both got bargains on clearance items. some solar lighting for around the house and camping, Driver bits

Santa got me this 90 Jeep Cherokee that needs a water pump and a lot of TLC. Mrs. Claus is very happy that I will be busy working on this and out of her hair during the off season. I'm hoping to get the major bugs worked out before turkey season. It's my first Jeep and I hope I enjoy it.

Skipped Christmas this year. Did pony up for a dozen arrows and bought my wife some first lite merino.

Planning house move. Hard to buy more crap I need to pack later.

I got a set of Wiggy's Waders- great for smaller stream crossings and light enough to throw in my day pack. This will open up more areas to me in places where I don't want to bring my heavy chest waders and boots, and will be safer and less hassle than just taking my boots off and rolling my pant legs up to cross.

Yes Santa was good to me. I got a Outdoor edge razor knife with the saw and skinner combo. It should be coming out this year, Santa most have some sort of connection.

The wifey got me a bow holder and hip belt pockets for my Kuiu Icon, and some C4E merino base layer tops and bottoms.
Now, only about 250 some days to put em to good use...

A new muzzle loader w/ scope, knife, lighted nocks, a emergency bow kit....most important, my son, his wife (now my daughter ) and parents were here!!!

Wonderful wife and daughter got me a Trager wood pellet smoker/grill. We cooked some pork ribs on it for Christmas they came out very tasty. Looking forward to cooking lots of elk cuts on this bad boy!

I still have things on my list but I'm excited to use my new gear. My basement is becoming cluttered with gear. I should take some pictures.

Isn't it crazy how that works?

Side note I got a new bow of my choosing from the girlfriend, waiting to hit the shop to try out the new bows. ( thinking elite impulse 34, Mathews Halon 7 or bowtech's new bt-x 31)

Others got me the gear needed to hike the entire Oregon stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail, jetboil, lightweight bivie bag, lightweight shelter, trekking poles and other little handy things.

Wow, you have generous people in your life. My wife got me coffee from Dunkin Donuts on Christmas morning.

She is a really good sport though. We are operating on the same budget so we pretty much buy our own stuff. I spend too much money on hobbies though.
