How are you guys getting all this stuff to camp?! I have a Tundra with the 6.5' bed so it's not the shortest bed they make and I can't imagine getting all this gear in there. I pride myself on being a pretty organized guy and pack stuff up like Tetris too.

Bow arrow target? I never bring a grill. Grill grate only. Some strategically stacked rocks for support and I'm good to go.

Tom, a lot just depends on how many guys you have going and how much you can fit. Sometimes you have to prioritize on what you can actually bring. Some items are more of a luxury and some are more of a necessity. We typically have two guys to a truck, which leaves the back seats of the pickup truck to pack, along with the 5'7" bed. We also typically have one trailer with an ATV on it, but that creates some room to put extra gear as well. One thing you could think about is building 'sides' for your pickup bed out of wood. We used to do this when we had less guys and no trailer. Here is an example I just found online:

I was just about to build a set of those CO. I have a fiberglass cap that I use when I go to hunt elk. I have an 8 foot bed too so I can fit a boatload of stuff in there when it's packed to the ceiling. It's also a 4 door so I have a huge back seat. I hope for the best but plan for the worst.

In 2013 we too a friends 1/2 ton with a short bed and extended cab. Man I'm telling you there was not room for another pair of socks in that truck. We both killed elk too so packing for the ride home was interesting.

But camp was fit for a king! I like having a well equipped camp. When you get tired and are pushing yourself a good camp really pays off. Even when I backpack a spike camp in I take a ton of things. As much as I can. They way I look at it the suffering is temporary and the payoff lasts much longer and spares me more pain. Just like making firewood. I've backpacked 8 by 10, 10 by 12 and even 12 by 14 wall tents in. We take turns and laugh at each other all the way. Then we hunt like dogs from that tent! I have a Marmot tent and I'm about to buy another smaller one. But I have to have a really really good reason forcing me to use them. Mine are strictly for Alaska fly ins and travelling on the motorcycle.

My list together with Six's original one is pretty much my personal camp. You should see my list for an outfitted camp complete with horses and mules. I put it together and fine tuned it over the years and used the same list for a long time. Man I'm glad I don't have to do that any more. It makes my personal hunting camps seem like a walk in the park even though I have a couple horses there too. I was a Boyscout. Be prepared!

Unstuck the truck gear are mounted in my pickup!!!,....always. Highlift jack, short piece or chain, low clearance floor jack,and a shovel sometimes a few pieces of engineered wood 2 spare tires

I have an old tent fly or sil-nylon I toss over gear to keep the dew or frost off of gear,.. even used it to sleep under
Ive simplified my food list. I bring fresh fruit from my trees, apples, pears and plums, prunes, Ill make egg sandwiches with garden veggies,"( think of an omlett on good bread)
Water purifying straw .
I have a tech box,.. a water proof box for my GPS, camera and phone.
When my wife comes I bring the ATV, She likes hot chocolate and a variety of soups,.. and her phone and Kindle
Always bear deterrent on my person and in the truck

Looks like you may need a bigger truck. I would ditch the grill and take a cast iron grate and a propane single burner hot plate.

What is the generator for?

We hunted 3rd season this year. -7 below 2 mornings in a row. A bottle of Mt dew that was left outside the tent froze solid. This year we drove a F 250 with a diesel. The truck started fine when we needed it, even without the generator. The generator was just a little added insurance.

Lucky that thing started. A gelled pickup in the backcountry would not be good.

You should look into renting an enclosed UHaul trailer to tow behind the pickup. Have you thought of that. Could also buy and enclosed trailer. If you are setting up a big basecamp every year it would be a worthwhile investment.

Know the local tree cutting rules. I love a chainsaw but hate the noise.
