Hunt Planner/Consultant...

Hi folks. I've been lurking for a while and finally joined. I am starting to look forward to my elk hunt for next year and have been leaning towards using a hunt planner/consultant. Being from the Midwest, it is nearly impossible to go west to scout. I'm still all about DIY.. just looking for a jump start. Does anyone have any recommendations? Feel free to PM if you'd rather. Thank you. Yeah, I'm sure he is busy. I've read a lot about his plans and he seems like the real deal.

Maybe a question I can throw out now for everyone is, would purchasing a WY preference point now help a lot for drawing a WY tag? Admittedly, I'm clueless about WY regs as I have only hunter CO. Thanks

I replied to your email. Pretty sure I covered all of your questions plus a few you haven't asked yet.

It's not too hard to have a plan for a 30 year old guy that's 6 feet tall and 195 pounds.... assuming you aren't afraid to get dirty. I'm glad to see you have at least one hunt under your belt and your partner several seasons. I feel better when guys know what to expect.

Yes, buy the point. I walk my hunters through the application process. You'll get a pretty quick and simple education on the system. When the time comes to apply you can make a decision to use your point or spend more money to save it.
