Never to early to start practicing

So i didn't draw my muzzy tag this year and therefore didn't start practicing my mouth reeds (first time user) until recently. I'd like to ask a question to you pros out there. I have the mellow yellow call and i can produce sound, but i cant seem to get a very crisp cow sound. Its always raspsy, like a duck call. Do i need more tongue pressure on the latex. Any advice would be great as i'm new to this.

Yes, slightly more & make sure your tongue contact point is near the center of the reed. Use breathing type air, do not blow air. I can offer more instruction if need be.

Thanks Paul, I was watching one of your videos on the tips page. I think the other thing i was doing wrong was using too much of the tip of my tongue. I'll try a few things and practice more and see what i can do. I can use my external calls but want to get the diaphragm in my arsenal, especially since i have your new tube.
