Do you guys play different "moment of truth" scenarios in your head including different shot possibilities? I do this a lot and my heart starts pounding every time.

I was practicing shooting scenarios with the bow the other day, I was doing such a good job visualizing that my heart rate went up a little

Do you guys play different "moment of truth" scenarios in your head including different shot possibilities? I do this a lot and my heart starts pounding every time.

My first year I over did the mental visualization, visualizing the same scenario over and over , (and over , and over) The last thing I often saw in my mind before I fell asleep many nights was placing the 22 yard pin in the perfect location.

I just didnt play enough scenarios. The bull stepped into my line of sight like I had envisioned so many times,..nice 6x6, head goes back and the bull is glunking( I didnt know what it was doing at that time) ,.. in the exact direction I expected, Placed the 22 yard pin, thinking about the 14 yard pin on the bulls G-4, Knowing this bull was bigger than any bull my FIL had killed.at 11 yards the arrow deflected off G-4 disappearing skyward.



Normally I do try to visualize scenarios. In the field, at home ,.. driving down the road ,....

for me its not visualizing any shots but more of a mental chess match of calling in my head. for example, if I hear a bull bugle and chuckle close to me say 100yds. if in thick cover my first option could be to cow call my way to him. or if I bugle and a bull bugles and grunts at me from with in that 100yrd range. I can bugle and rake and/or chuckle to his cows trying to tick him off. its all about how and what calls to use and the meaning of them. it makes more sense in my head than it does trying to write it.

Only when I'm right in the real deal! I don't fantasize it other wise.
