An intro and question

Afternoon all. Long time lurker first time poster. While I understand this site is mainly comprised of those in the beautiful western states and the animals out west. However does anyone have any experience with the elk in Kentucky?. I got drawn for an archery tag and could use any pointers from someone with experience in Kentucky.

Why yes yes they do make good bourbon and whiskey in them there parts.

Just do your pre scouting and try to have one tied up for the opener and go from there.

As previously stated elk pretty much behave and have the same habits no matter where you find them! We have lots of Tule elk on our place! I have noticed a couple slight differences with these animals. One there bugles seem to be shorter in duration they also seem to be a bit higher pitched.the other odditie when compared to Rockies it that there joints click a lot louder. Now this may be because if the difference in the terrain they inhabit. Meaning it may appear louder due to much more open type country!
But they still do exactly what a person would expect them to do in regards to behavior/ responding to calls ect. The main thing if it was my tag would be to figure out the terrain and how they use the areas .congratulations on the tag that would be a fun hunt.
