New to Idaho Elk

Hey all,

I have had good luck in the past asking you all for advice. I had a recent change of plans and Instead of moving to CO, i will be moving to Boise for 3 months as a traveling nurse in September. I'm itching to get out and try a Bow hunt this year, but I have never set foot in the state of Idaho. Does anyone out there have any ideas or places to check out for 1 or 2 day hunts. Ive hunted CO for the last two years and this will be my 1st Archery hunt. I'm not asking for any secret spots, just areas that have elk so I'm not going at it completely blind. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Corey, that's a tough one bud! If guys here are finding elk they are most likely going to be hunting them themselves! (grin) You need to talk to Fish & Game for the areas of interest & they would be better bets to share some info on places to consider!

^^^ elk are tough enough to find without letting others know general areas. Your biologists and boot leather are about your bet.

A lot of elk in Idaho,.. Take advantage of what you have nearby which is convenient for your hunting methods and like mentioned check with fish and game.

I will have to get a NR license. Is that going to affect my situation?
