Jetstream or Downpour Jacket

Postby Kessler10 » 08 19, 2015 •  [Post 1]

Trying to decide which Sitka Jacket to go with. The Downpour or Jetstream. Seems the Jetsream is water resistant and Downpour is water proof. Both appear to have good windstopper.

How water resistant is the Jetstream in your opinion?

Don't sure about the Sitka. However most water " résistance" fabric , usually, has a DWR coating. water proof is generally the fabric it self , such as gortex. Kiwix , I believe, makes products that add or " revive" the water repellentcy. Depending on how much the jackets cost and difference in price, waterproof always sounds better, but I live in the western wa.
Hope this helps you out

Indian summer has the jet stream, and seems to like it very well. The downpour as I understand it, is raingear. The jetstream is more of a hunting jacket that will repell the ocasional shower, and has windstop.
