are artic muck boots any good

For the right hunting area & conditions I'm sure they are but generally not a good choice for western elk hunts!

Colorado is usually pretty dry. You can get snow in Sept-Oct but it usually melts quickly. In general you can use a good hiking boot and try to either jump to step on rocks to cross streams as they are at their lowest this time of year. Take them along but I have rarely needed a pair of rubber boots.
