I think its time for us to see some more game cam and scouting pics. most of us are less than a month before the archery season opens. So, post up some pics if you got em. lets get the blood flowing!!!

Great spike! Can you describe the area and why you have a trail camera on a bald knob?

Seeing that area it just isn't screaming "Elky" to me. Why are the elk moving through there?

It's not a bald knob, it's on a bench that runs north & south. There is a small creek there with black sulfur in it & has attracted both deer & elk to it for years. There's lots of timber there & downfall. This guy showed up to it as well. The critters come to it & lick the black stuff like crazy, it smells very foul.

So its not an elk but i got this young non typical on camera in a new spot this year and im excited to see what he turns into over the next couple years, provided a coug or wolf doesnt get him. Hard to see in just this pic but hes a little 8x4 right now. Has 4 points going off the backside of his right main beam

Heres a view of him from the back where you can see all those funny little points geowing off the back of his right main a bit better. Wouldnt shoot him this year but i think hes got potential.

Had a black sow with black triplets same spot last year. Most of the bears around here are some sort of color phase though. Im actually hoping for a black one this year cause ive only killed cinnamon and chocolate bears.
I think the bottom two might be the same bear. Pre and post rub. Hard to say though.

I admit, I didn't do the best job securing it. The strap I had broke, so I had to improvise.

Kel use a slate river ez aim mount and hang your cams 10- 12 feet up. Then the only animal that might screw with it is a bear. Does a good job of keeping two legged critters from seeing them too. I carry a few screw in tree steps to get them up high

So i just got home and checked a couple cams on my property. One BIG melon headed tom cougar in broad daylight, and few days later a female with 2 kittens also daylight, and a couple weeks later a lone juvenile in the dark. Couple bears too, one of which is a real pig. Tomorrow ill take my laptop somewhere with wifi so i can post up some pics.
