Scouting Trip

Postby MLayden » 07 21, 2015 •  [Post 1]

We've heard elk habiting these hills. Saw a couple beds. Saw no previous rubs. What seems to be our never end search for a honey hole, may continue...We may just get up top and see if the elk will tell use where they are as we will have camp on our backs for 4-5 days...

Good looking ground, a spotting scope should save you some miles

We just got back from Jasper on south to Waterton. Some of the area we drove looked similar. South of Longview.
Sweet looking country.
How does the public land work up in Canada? Or are you on private ground? Is hunting allowed in Provincial parks?

Pretty close Lefty...this is south of Longview on public land!
You can't hunt in the National Parks (Jasper/Banff). There's some Provincial Parks/Wildland/Natural Areas that are off limits to hunting as well.
Did you fish up here on your trip? Some good fishing all the way up to Jasper!
