Sitka Cloudburst & Dew Point??

Anyone have any info on either of these? We're looking for toughness & water-proofness. Any info would be helpful! That's the Dew-Point & Cloudburst rain gear! Thanks!

Hey Paul,
If you haven't checked out the sitka website,the dewpoint jacket is the lighter more packable at 13.57 oz.vs. the cloudburst at 20oz. Reviews seem to be about the same for both. Guessing both are going to be awesome.If you do,let us know which setup you purchase, and how you like it.

Thanks! I just got my hands on both so was able to compare the two. The Cloudburst series is a hair thicker with the lining inside on shirt & pants yet both are still packable. The Dew Point seemed more fragile as it were so am seriously considering the Cloudburst? Still unsure! (grin)

Sounded like you were familiar with the torrent raingear,did you use this, and did you have any issues? Guessing the only issue would be the DR finish wearing out?

Chris, funny you ask! I was at the ISB shoot last weekend & tried to get a peek at it but the owner of the booth was wearing it because of a hard rain storm, never did see it! (grin)

Doug, the Torrent rain gear was worn by my son & it actually held up very well in some real down pours we were caught in. We just want to give the Sitka gear a shot!

Hi Paul

I have the Cloudburst.. My decision was based on the fact if the weather turned a bit more wicked, I think the Cloudburst would be much better than the dew point.. I think early to mid sept the dew point is perfect, but when the weather gets a bit colder the cloudburst is hard to beat and you would wish you had it. Just like the other said.. I'm packing for those situations just in case... otherwise, hard to beat the jetstream jacket for the wind and cold..

Hey thanks! Yes I think we've decided on the Cloudburst Jacket & Pants as well as the 90% Jacket. The Dew Point rain gear looks flimsy but I'm sure does just fine but like the added thickness, fabric which seems a hair softer & quieter in the Cloudburst! Thanks!

Way to go Paul! Very interested to see how you like the raingear....already know your going to like the 90% jacket.Been using mine for the last 6 or 7 years now,along with the assent pant,but thinking about the 90% pants this year.

Hey Paul, great purchase on the cloudburst set. My brother has the dew point and I have the cloudburst. Both are awesome! I ditched the suspenders to cut weight in my pack. I really like the set and use it for the morning dew/rain walk in and when it's drizzle or better during the day. Enjoy! BTW I really like the new bugle. Sounds are super good!

We decided against Sitka at this time, staying with Core4 gear! It has served us well.
