i dropped a weight class.

Postby pointysticks » 07 09, 2015 •  [Post 1]

i am in my 180's!!

3 years ago. i weighed 230+.

started eating right. vegetarian weekdays..exercising like a madperson. i started exercising for Idaho elk season and never stopped. i just kept going. trail running..got really good on a mountain bike. i cant believe it. i ran with the El Paso SWAT team and didnt get my arse handed to me. i was mid pack!! i ran 8 miles non stop a few weeks ago. i run daily 2-3 miles and on saturday do my long run. usually 6 trail miles.

my clothing is loose. my camo is huge. my sleeping bag is huge. i have a wedding to go to, and my wife proudly took all my suits to the donation bin. none of them fit. i have to buy new suits. (i hope she lets me buy a new sitka 90% jacket.) people see me and start noticing that i am skinnier. i can hold my breath swimming under water..double/triple the time.

i am a much better bowhunter. hills are no limits. i used to see a great area and come up with an excuse not to check it out..now? let's go!

i am going to sign up for a gym soon. last bow hunt season was awesome..this year is going to be even better!! bring it.

i think elk hunting saved my life. seriously.

Congrats on the great accomplishment! I'm sitting in your same shoe right now. I've lost about 20 lbs over the last year and would like to lose 10 more before elk season. My ultimate would be 180 but i would feel real comfortable at 200 for right now.

Congrats again

Great job Pointy! That's one of the best parts about hunting, that it motivates us to go farther, train harder, hunt smarter, and become better. It keeps us healthy physically, mentally, and spiritually. Who knows what shape we'd be in without hunting :D
