Bugling Elk While Scouting

Anyone hearing bugling elk in their summer scouting trips? Do elk bugle in the summer in some instances?

Was on a scouting trip in Wyoming around the first of June this year. Had my 13 year old boy with me. Never been in that particular unit so was just burning some boot rubber seeing what I could find. We where working our way through the timber about 3/4 of the way up this mountain when I heard an elk bugle above us. First one my boy had ever heard! They where in there beds but we heard them several more times.

Also had some buddies scouting another unit and they heard elk bugling everyday.

last trip out we didnt hear any bugels but we did hear some cow and calf talk in the bottom of a canyon we were scouting. we smelled them too but never got to see them. we werent being very quiet and really just hiking and looking for sign.

Heard a couple bugles over the weekend just as the moon was rising. We were on a fishing trip but that changed what I was thinking about!

Been out to my family cabin near my hunting spot five times this year and each time I've heard several bugles. Two nights ago a bull was bugling clear through the night and into the early morning just a couple hundred yards from the cabin.

I heard a bull bugling Saturday morning. He went on for about 30 minutes.
