Canvas Wall tent question

Postby Raghorn_Reaper » 07 20, 2015 •  [Post 1]

Do you think you can you use the frame from a canopy shelter to support a canvas cover? Would probably just need to build in some more tie outs right?

A frame like this one: http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/sportsmans/ShelterLogic-10x20-8-Leg-Canopy/productDetail/Canopies-and-Screenhouses/prod9999010426/cat100831

RR, questions: Do you have a canvas tent already? If so, buy the frame joints and cut 1" conduit for a bargainish frame that will exactly fit your tent. That shelter kit in your link can be bought fully enclosed. The frame will probably not fit the pitch angles of a canvas tent, so it would be flappy and unstable in wind. Or R U thinking flat canvas tarp over that shelter frame?

If it's not windy, raining or snowing maybe. But the review people complained about 2" of snow collapsing the shelters, it was a pile of metal on the ground. It pretty thin metal for a wet heavy canvas.

You can buy your angle kit here and then buy 1" EMT conduit from Home Depot and make your own. I think I paid $138 for 23 sticks of 10' EMT to build the frame for my 16'x20' wall tent.
