Two Exo Packs Gone In 15 Min!

Postby ElkNut1 » 04 05, 2015 •  [Post 1]

Boy these packs are well sought after! We ordered two new ones from S&S Archery so decided to let these two last years models go, they only lasted about 15 min & were gone. A couple guys got a sweet deal & a great pack! (grin) Finding these used & at a fair price is tough to do being they are a fairly new unit. Can't wait for the new ones as they have some small tweaks done to them that should be very nice, the pack weighs 4-lb 14-oz for the 3500. My son & I went to their shop & gave them a good look over, I was sold with them once again. They're definitely one of the finest packs on the market today with a simple yet efficient design! It's the best hunting/packing pack we've used!

I liked all the changes! (grin) Not sure how many? Minor ones but all an upgrade for sure! The waistbelt has a slightly different feature for comfort, the lid can now be removed from front or back with 2 simple buckles, the frame is a slightly different shape & secured so none will squeak, a couple nice string pulls on both cylinder pouches that are easier to use, total weight of 4-lb-14-oz -- It's things like this all in all that Steve Lenny did to fine tune the pack. There may be more tweaks but they escape me at present. This is one sweet pack folks, I highly recommend them! Steve is doing a 100-lb 100 mile trek with this new version, so far he has 47 miles on it with no issues at all, still looks like new!

Great to hear this Paul. I'm excited to get mine as I am on the backorder list. I have heard nothing but great things about this pack. Just curious what size of belt you used? I'm a 35 waist line. Did you get any of the accessories that you can buy?

Leland, not sure if it's considered a small or medium waste? My son & I needed a 32" & a 33", we had the same waistbelt & I believe it goes from 30" to 36". We will have the same size on the new ones. We are adding two of the netted pouches that velcro in , one for inside the top where we would put food for all day hunts & one on the inside of the vertical zippered pocket that is used to access the main bag. They will be very handy! We also are having the meat shelf added to each, it is a very slick & simple system to raise boned meat or quarters 6" to 8" higher, only weighs a couple of ounces, very cool! How about you?

I am going to add the belt pouch and the meat shelf as well. I hadn't seen the mesh pouches but they sound interesting.

We already have the belt pouches on each side of last years packs so will add those to the new packs. If you're familiar with last years pack there was a zippered netted pouch in the main bag right behind the vertical bag length zipper that's in the main bag, this has been removed but there's a long velcro strip there & on the top lid pouch inside where these netted bags can be stuck on to securely. Very nice idea!!

Took my Exo 3500 out on it’s maiden voyage. Can’t say enough good about the pack and as a note of reference for those of you getting a pack the large belt is indeed a very large belt…..I was thinking with a 34” waist and extra clothing that I would want the large belt, indeed the medium belt would have been a better choice for me, am in touch with the folks at Exo a hopefully I can get it changed out. While testing the new pack we got to see some Blue (ok Dusky for you genetic geeks) Grouse do their spring dance pretty cool indeed, and of course the camera was staying warm and dry at home arrrrgh. Anyway great pack…

Nice review!! Heck with a 34" you could have gotten away with a small! (grin) Mine is 32"-33" & a small still has lots of adjustment, Steve there would know best though! Great pack for sure & is a packing machine when needed, you'll love it!

Finally got mine in the mail. What an awesome pack. Put the 40lb mini-aussie in it to adjust and man does it feel good. I can't wait to load it down with something this fall. The layout of pockets and straps makes this a very versatile pack. Sometime in July and Aug I will get it out on a couple of scouting hikes but from what I experienced with Ol' chubby in it.. :D this thing is going to be a game changer.

I got my pack yesterday. I have to echo everyone else. Wow! This thing is awesome. Super comfortable and well layer out. I wish I had bought a couple of the mesh pockets, but I'll order them later.
