My application is done. Unfortunatley, I am only looking at a preference point for the upcoming season. Will be the caller and support crew for my brother however, which will be just as fun.. We always split the meat anyway. Also put in for a PP for my son so that when he can get some time off in Sept. he can get in on the fun right away. Might pick up a cow tag if we don't get meat during archery season.

Is this for lottery only? I am bow hunting and have been told there are guaranteed tags for either sex for certain seasons in CO. Can anyone verify? Or do I need to get my tag before April 7th?

If you're planning on hunting an OTC unit you can buy it up til whenever you want to hunt. If you want to put in for a Limited unit or for a preference point then the deadline is next Tuesday.

When in doubt, apply for a PP or the best hunt in the state. You will get a pp, either way. There are definitely better options available w 1 point than w 0, come next year. I believe the point alone costs $40 to draw or you can get a fishing licence and pp for $65. If you never come fishing, it is still worth it because you won't have to pay to apply for pp NEXT year.

My hunting party and i were not on the same page this year as far hunting units. Has anyone submitted the Application Corrections form???? Did everything work out. Any problems????

Long Range, a couple of years ago I forgot to put in for a pref. point as first choice and then my cow tag. What I did was put in for a cow tag as first choice with 8 points- a license that always has leftovers in August. I realized my mistake and filled out the online correction form. A couple of weeks later I got a call from a nice gal from the DOW. She said she was hired to review apps and noticed I put in for a tag that routinely has leftovers with 8 points. I told her I knew and that I filled out the correction form. She checked and for some reason the correction form didn't take. End result, if she had not caught it, I would've burned 8 points on a leftover tag! I don't know the circumstances of your situation, but it may be worth a phone call. Good luck..
