New-ish?

Hey guys,
Just thought I'd say hello. Been lurking for a while and finally decided to post. Eastern guy and came upon this site while getting ready for my first elk hunt in 2013. Bought some of Elknut's stuff (chuckler, playbook, DVD) and perused through here soaking up what I could. When I got to Colorado, I hunted with a buddy and spent a couple days with him learning the area (he's hunted there for years) before we split up. Was able to use what I'd learned to actually call in a couple of bulls, but bowhunting is bowhunting and I never could seal the deal. Probably should have shot the couple of different cows I had broadside with no idea I was there, but I was having too much fun yelling back and fourth with bulls! Work and stuff kept me from getting back to the elk woods last fall and still not sure about this fall. But am definitely planning on a 2016 trip.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to everyone because I went into the elk woods WAY more prepared than I had any right to be and a lot of that was because of this site.

Oh, I can't wait to get back. Not sure about this September. I've got a big South Dakota waterfowl hunt planned for this fall that has been a couple years in the making. If that doesn't suck up all my time off...

It'd sure be nice to get back on the mountain! Pretty jealous of you western guys that can hunt em like I hunt deer and ducks here...whenever I feel like it!
