What are you cats using for a release and why that particular make/model?

Tru-fire for me, looking to get a back up. Do I buy the same release or go with a different brand, model trying to improve. Part of me think if I do need a back-up it might screw me up with a different model. thoughts????

Spot hogg wiseguy great release fully adjustable length and trigger weight, only release i will use unless i were to go to a handheld.

I have a True Fire foldback. Works well for me. If I were to carry a spare I would want to carry the same type for continuity. Middle of a hunt is a bad time to try something new.

I am using a Carter Target 4. The chocolate 4 is more suited to hunting, in my opinion.

Carter like mike. I love open hook designs. And I was getting some
Bad habits with my Scott and its light trigger. The carter is set heavy and I'm not punching the trigger like before.

Scott Rhino XT. It is a hook release and I much prefer the hook to a caliper. Has a very heavy trigger the makes it difficult to punch. It forces you to pull through the shot. Very crisp trigger with no creep and is adjustable.

I use a True Fire revolver foldback and I have another new one in my pack. Never know when your old trusty release will give out and I don't want that to happen in the middle of nowhere.

If you haven't tried a Winn's Free flight don't because you'll have to list your current one in the classifieds. :lol:

I have had clients with shoulder so bad they thought they were going to have to give up bow hunting. They tried the Winn's and told me they were good for life. The wrist/palm strap section is a one of a kind design. You can literally add 10 pounds to your draw weight. It doesn't flop around either which I like. I've had mine for uh.... nearly 30 years and I have never even considered another brand.

Tru-fire edge fold back and a Timney shoot identical for me. When a tried a Tru-fire Hardcore I hit 6" to the left at 60 yds. So releases aren't interchangeable. Shot the Winn Freeflight for years but when dealing with customers who shoot them I notice a lot of torque on the string even with a loop. They just don't have the play in them to take out poor form.

I might actually switch to this. I tried it at the shop the other day. Carter releases are great, but they are expensive and the trigger is set back so far from the jaws that you have to shorten your draw length 1/2". I live that scott releases have the trigger right up front by the jaws....and you can buy 2 for the price of 1 carter!

Truball tornado. Old school. It was the first release I tried. It stuck with me. I love the longer swept back trigger. Now I'm stuck. I want to change, but everything feels so foreign. I have two of them.

Spot hogg whipper snapper, love the hand held releases myself. Just bought a Scott exxus, one of my friends was using it and shot well in the tournaments with it all year, anxious to try it myself.

Spot hog wise guy, has zero creep, adjustable trigger and length, and a lifetime warranty. I have the one with the buckle, there is also one with a Velcro/magnet clasp

HTM Inline Release. I have been messing around with this one for almost a month and I am really liking it. Best combination of wrist strap, handheld release activated with your index finger.

Truefire foldback hook style. I had been shooting a generic caliper for 10 years. My accuracy had plateaud so I upgraded and it's the best decision I've made in awhile.
