Golf Balll Deer/Elk Skinning

Anyone heard of this. If not Google search "Golf Ball Deer/Elk Skinning." Does this really work? Could be a big time saver thats for sure.

I've never used the method but saw it employed a good 20 years ago. It's been around a while!

Been doing it that way for 30 years, learned it from hunting club in Charleston SC where I grew up

Fastest cleanest way to skin a deer I know of.

I've seen it work on deer but it was not successful when my cousin tried it on an elk. The golf ball tore through the hide. Kind of surprised us since elk hide is tougher than deer but it just didn't want to peel away as easily. Maybe others have been more successful with it but that was our experience. His elk had been field dressed and it was the next day after a night well below freezing. It may have worked better if it was still warm.

Have done it with a deer, but never tried it on an elk. When it was shown to me the person doing it said the animal still needed to be warm for the hide to peel.

I've done it on cold deer with no problems.
