field and stream mag

Postby steviek » 11 08, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Not sure if this was made mention on here or not. Forgive me if it was.

I was going through my September 2014 Field and Stream Magazine and saw an article on Sportsman’s Notebook page titled 6 x 6 symphony. The Cow Party call sequence that has earned Paul “elknut” Medel 157 public-Land bulls over the last 22 years.

Congrats on the publication.

Yes, you gotta love those folks at Field & Stream! (grin) Cow Party?????? I've never used that phrase in all my life! I had an interview with them 2 years ago about the Breeding Sequence & its effectiveness, we talked, they took notes & did an article back then, but now I see they've took it upon themselves to embellish on it in a recent mag.! They're a funny group with their non-hunter phrases, I had issues with them re-wording what I'd told them originally but they said they knew how to phrase it where it was more publicly accepted, go figure!

It's like the number of elk they say I've killed, that's not how many I've taken, it's the number the ElkNut Crew has taken in that 22 year span. But that's Field & Stream for you I guess? They should have conversed with me to make sure they had their facts straight but they did not! Oh ya, they can add 8 more to that number after this year! (grin) Thanks!

Thanks for the update Paul. I think they need to stick with whitetail hunting. Who buys that mag in the West anyways? I have only seen it because that's all they have at the dentist's office. :)
