Idaho Unit 54-1. Archery

So I drew the coveted 54-1 tag in Idaho and have been here for two days and haven't really "found" the elk yet. We've been west of Oakley and haven't heard the elk talking at all and haven't seen a lot of sign. If anyone has any idea or info on the unit I would greatly appreciate it. I still have until the 20th until the season ends. Thanks and good hunting.

Try driving the roads and throwing out location bugles at night. Elknut refers to this tactic in his book for locating the elk during the night. Has worked pretty well in the past.

Thanks, we actually just did that this evening and finally found some good bulls. Now puttin an arrow in em is going to be a different story. Thanks for the help
