Got busted

No elk sounds I found where some elk had been bedded yesterday. Set up watching the trails to the bedding area and a nice 6 point comes from a different direction while he was behind a tree I rotated for the shot when he went behind another tree I started to draw he came out and caught the end of my draw and bolted a nervous grunt didn't stop him.

It was my first day every elk hunting after I got busted I jumped a cow out of her bed. I only got to go out sat evening and Sunday morning passed a spike deer sat evening and jumped a really nice buck all in all it was a great time can't wait to go back

Eldon, when you're busted by any elk by sight or smell the nervous/popping grunt will do no good! (grin) He already identified you as a threat & no sound was going to make him second guess himself! The nervous grunt isn't a magic wand! (grin) I'll bet you still had a blast though, great job in getting the bull in close!
