Do they blow your cover when they see you and start barking obnoxiously? If so do you move?

I have noticed in the areas that they have been shot at, they give me the alarm call. The real remote areas, seems I can almost feed them crumbs whole I'm eating. I do my best not to plink the rodents and birds in my hunting areas then they don't give me away as readily.

I was in some pretty remote areas the last several days and the squirrels were in abundance. Didn't try to feed any but thought if I had and used my crow call maybe they would of shut up??

i dont mind them (except their chewing sheds) they bark and make a racket, but not just at us. they do it at deer, elk, bear, cats, eachother, flat out anything and everything (and sometimes nothing) in the woods. its not like when your prey hears a couple squirrels freaking out they think "oh must be a hunter there" i think animals tend to just ignore squirrels. ive had plenty of squirrels freak out around me and had deer walk within 5 feet of me minutes later. just ignore them, theyll find soemthing better to bark at. and they can be kind of entertaining to watch if youre a sit still and wait kind of hunter like me, they help pass the time

One thing I noticed is that my world class cow calling brings in the birds of prey sometimes :)

Yeah the jays don't seem to find my cow call very attractive

Same here

I did kill the first red squirrel in a red pine facing me at about 8 feet my first year deer hunting as a 12 year old. after the 30-30 barked the woods were dead quiet  . Never shot another red squirrel just because they annoyed me since
