I was thinking to myself... "that guy better learn to rattle or something because he is the worst caller ever" but before I could even start typing my wife says "what the heck is that? Somebody calling? It sure doesn't sound anything like any elk!" Cracked me up.

I noticed the barbed wire fence. I might try that if I hunted where people puts fences. But where I like to go I'd have to hire a Sherpa to carry my rattling antlers!

That was the first thought in my mind, like I need something else to put on my pack! It would be interesting to try it though, maybe I could cut some sheds down real short and give it a whirl.

Actually, the guy in the clip (Ralph) is doing exactly what he should be doing with his rattling & calling sequence. He's not trying to bugle, he's moaning & groaning, he could have added panting & even glunks to his sequence. This style he was sharing can be very effective on Public Land hunts as well as where he was. Using sounds most hunters don't is a very effective way to lure in curious bulls or at minimum get them to sound off because of the commotion in their area! His calling for his setup was spot on!
