Packing Equipment

I got to thinking about when to start packing equipment. It started when reading through the temp ratings for sleeping bags and pads being used by others. I invested some money into mine last year and wanted to keep the R-Values as high as possible. How do most of you store your pads and bags? I have hung mine so the insulation can stay lofted as much as possible. So now is the time of year to start packing and getting ready for the up and coming hunt. Would you roll your bag into a small stuff sack a week prior to your hunt? Does it really matter for that short period of time? Looking for opinions on this. I also have an insulated blow up pad that I have left rolled out.

I try not to leave mine compressed for long. If you just need to figure out where everything will go then pack everything, then unstuff the insulation.

My buddy only stores his down and expensive high tech bags by hanging them They get bagged in an oversized bag , not the ones the bag came with when on the trail

My bags are synthetic, I don't use the compression straps

No longer than 24 hours prior do I compress them.

I store mine in the oversize bags that they came with. Then stuff them in the small sack when they go in the backpack.
