Looking at the Icon pro 5200, Icon 5200(on Sale) and the ultra 6000.

Any feedback appreciated, saw a good review on rockslide for the 6000.

I went with the Icon 5200 due to it being on sale. What's the difference between the two?

The new one has upgraded material, upgraded carbon frame and suspension, supposed to be more durable overall and comfortable? I hope so because I was on the fence and almost ordered the sale pack as well but figured I would get the latest greatest so to speak, Mine has shipped already so I will comment on it when it arrives!

I really like my Ultra 6000, my only complaints are it is a bit noisy when it scrapes against brush, the zippers can be very loud, and my spotting scope does not fit in its front pocket. Hauls heavy weight over distance better than any other pack I have owned and is very comfortable.

I take it you haven't got it wet yet? Mine got wet and started squeeking where the vertical part of the frame goes into the bag (at the very top). It's quite annoying, but I am going to try and wrap some moleskin or something on the frame, so hopefully this will eliminate that problem. Now this is subjective since we're all built differently, but I don't think it hauls heavy weight all the great. Puts too much pressure on my lower back; and when testing 80lbs in the load sling, it kept wanting to slip downward.

With that said, I actually like it for that fact of it's light weight. My typical load while backpacking is around the 30-35 lb mark, and it is very comfortable with this weight (I actually like it as long as it's <60 lbs).

If your frame is squeaking wrap it with athletes tape. That cured the squeak on my X2

So I am new to these quality packs and was wondering about adjustment, it comes set for a 17 inch toso, I have a 19 inch torso, do I move the strap attachment up or down?

Yea I had it out in a downpour this past weekend and it was fine no issues and kept dry inside without the rain-fly after a sustained 2.5 hour hike. I was in pretty good cover for a majority of that time however. The pack dried quickly. It is also sorta squeaky however at the top same place it sounds like. When I load tested with 80 lbs I was able to walk 2 times farther than with my other 2 packs before feeling discomfort (Sitka Bivy 45 and Cabelas Alaska Extreme).
