Newbie Introduction

Hi everyone,

I've known about the forum for a while now , but have only been a member of the forum for a short while, but have casually lurked time to time for a while. The opportunity came about, and my wife and I moved from Dallas to Fort Collins this past February. I've been an avid deer bowhunter for a little over a decade now. A elk hunt has been on my bucket list ever since taking up bowhunting in college. All of the sudden, I'm living closer than I ever thought I would to it. Tags, points, lottery, etc has confused me a little bit and my fly fishing passion has distracted me from thinking about hunting for some time now.

I've committed to hunting Colorado unit 6 for this coming bow season. I'm headed up there this evening to look around ,and I'll probably head up there again tomorrow evening. I honestly, have no idea if unit 6 is worth while or not, I've been told it is. So, this all being said, I know I'm pretty far behind the curve when it comes to scouting for and hunting elk. Some time ago, there was a great article I had saved on my work computer about hunting elk, but that was my old life and its someone else's computer now, so I can't pull it up and read it. Does anyone have suggestions or a really good article, or series of articles, I can read. I know it'll be a crash course at this point. Even if I just HEAR A BUGGLE, nonetheless, see an elk with a bow in hand, I'll consider this season a success.

I'm really looking forward to learning elk and how to hunt them! Cheers everyone.
