"All Elk Encounters Are Not Created Equal"

Sound familiar? Elknut1 has said this countless times over the years. So how do we learn to "Read the Encounter" correctly with all the similar sounds with different meanings elk make? Now being that I'm early on in my elk killing quest I certainly don't have all the answers. But I will say this. Learning about the elk themselves combined with experiences I've had, picking the brains of others and learning from blown opportunities is helping me understand that elk will tell me and teach me the who, why, when, where, what they are doing/saying at any given time. What say you?

I just had a similar thought driving home from church. I definitely feel better educated and prepared for various encounters for this archery season! A big thanks to everyone's thoughts and tips I've read on this forum the past year.
