Colorado weather?

I know this can very from-50 to + 150 degrees but last week of September at 11000 ft in central Colorado, what is your best guess at daytime/nighttime temps, I have hunted there 1 time 4 years ago in early September and it was 65 daytime and high 20s at night, I am guessing a little cooler than that and I will be prepared for anything but just trying to see what you guys have seen for an average over the years

A very difficult question to answer with any certainty, but I would guess you are about right. Daytime highs around 65 and lows around 30.

BRazz is pretty close for the average, nights are general cooler than that up high. There is a difference between average and most common. The most common weather would be a combination of sunny and stormy weather in cycles of 3-5 days. Rain or snow for 1-2 days, clearing and warming for 2-3 days. Which leaves you with average #s like BRazz posted, but lower and higher temps are more common than the "average." Last year's monsoon was stronger, wetter, and lasted later than usual. Typically expect PM rain storms of an hour or so. Strong cold fronts that time of year can drop 1-12 inches of snow in 24 hours @ that elevation. Before and after those storms, hunting improves!

Everyone says, "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 min." They first heard that while in the Colorado mountains. Take and wear multiple sheddable layers.

At 11000 feet I think you will be getting freezing temps at night regardless of the daytime temps. During the day you might see anything.

I was camping at 9000' last weekend and we had a hard frost every night.

I agree that you should expect below freezing every night at that elevation. As far as precipitation you never know, last year was extremely wet pretty much all of September. Would probably have been a mix of rain and snow at 11,000

We were hunting at about 10,000 one year in Sept. and it was ten degrees most nights. We knocked ice off our tent every morning. I would prepare for colder than 20 degree nights.

I've been out bivy hunting in the San Juans in September and thought I was going to freeze to death in my +10 marmot sleeping bag, turns out it got down to 0 with a windchill much lower, forecast from NOAA was for a low of 20 at 10k. Weather forecasters have no Idea what is going to happen in the high country. Be prepared for anything, especially if you will be out overnight. The extreme temperature swings can make it hard for you to get used to the cold as well.
