Take a look at the Kelty cache Hauler with bag and the Horn Hunter Full Curl. Both will haul in a camp and convert to a meat hauler. Advantage Kelty frame as a pure hauler. Advantage Horn Hunter frame only as it will double as a day pack that can haul a quarter. Both are priced very reasonably for what you get.

I like my pack so far. Ive used it from hauling in gear (up to 9 days in the picture) and hauling out game. Heaviest was the head and cape.
I have also used it for a day pack, gets a little heavy and would like to find a lighter weight pack but it gets the job done. I even had them add a few straps to the frame and pack. It allows me to separate the bag away from the frame so meat can fit in between the two. You can also drop the bag off itself while carrying out game. I had one other small adjustment made; a pouch put into the "meat sleeve" if you want to call it that. Its the fabric attached to the frame to secure your game. I didnt like how far away from my back the water was normally held. I carry anywhere from 1 to 3 liters of water at a time so it can get heavy. I think it will be a noticeable difference this year.

I am a big fan of the cabelas alaskan outfitter frame, and have been using one since 1987. You can purchase the freighter frame by itself, or with the removable backpack. I don't use this for a daypack, but use it to haul all my gear down to camp, and when I kill an elk,I remove the pack, and lash qtrs. to the frame. It also has a nice fold out bench on the bottom of the frame to keep meat from sliding down the frame. Also has a blaze orange cover that can be pulled out to cover meat/antlers. It is extremly light, but very durable, and I believe the frame itself is 140.00.

For a daypack my new love is the Sitka Flash 20 - very small, light, and comfortable, but has an internal aluminum frame that can be used with heavier loads (bivy camp or meat load #1).

X2 on the cabelas outfitter frame. I love mine this is the fourth pack I've been through narrowing down my choices I had 2 internal and one other external. The outfitter with bag is big enough for my 7 day hunt my base weight is around 40# but the pack is HEAVY that said I will sacrifice a few extra pounds of pack weight for how comfortable this thing hauls 100#+ loads. I have 109# on the frame right now for training and it handles very nice. It handles the weight much better than I can and I saw one on sale for 179 the other day but think they're discontinuing that particular model. I got the last one that was in the store at Rogers. I think they are pushing a lighterweight frame called the instinct or prestige maybe??? You can still get the frame only for 139.99 online. Good luck on your search

I use the Kelty ($109) and strap my full day pack (Badlands Stealth) to it. So far so good. This way I'm not hunting with some daypack thats too heavy, yet, I have the frame to haul anything I run in to. This year will be the first real test. I like to hike in to an area, set up an ultralite camp, and hunt from there, so this set up work great.

My thrifty wife just found a kelty frieght hauler at a local thrift store. Thing looks like it hasn't been used for $25, she was leary of buying it but luckily she did. She was nervous spending $25 at a thrift store until she came home and saw what they really cost.
