Best hand saw for firewood

Postby blackbruin » 06 26, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Just looking for opinions on best bow saw and blade for camp wood. Thinking a bigger kerf for softwoods and extra blade. I carry a belt axe for processing/kindling/firewood. Don't want too much weight yet big enough to not be short stroking! Thanks!

If your arent feeding a stove or a fire-pan I wouldn't bring along a saw unless I needed tent poles or cutting up meat
Just feed the the fire
I do like the Kobalt 12" (from Lowes) cheap and easy however it is only 12 inches

I carry a wyoming saw in my pack at all times. These saws come with a wood blade and a bone blade. They are great and they pack into nothing. I believe there are two sizes,I have the small one and the blade is around 12" or 14". There is a larger one but I have never used it. They are great for limbs, bone, and those times when packing your stihl 660 just might be a little more overkill than its worth.
